Diyarbakır
Hub IIThe Poet of Love
Phase 1
Feqîyê Teyran (1560-1640) is one of the most prominent mystic-poet of classical Kurdish literature whose spoken poetry flows through the refined poetic language of Sufism. Within the aim of reclaiming his legacy for Kurdish literature and cultural geography, the hub worked for a festival to be permanent in the cultural and artistic urban memory of Diyarbakır.
a4 Open Art Space and Wephotos Art Space prepared an oral narrative about Feqîyê Teyran with M. Xalid Sadînî, who has been conducting in-depth research about classical Kurdish literature in Van for a long time. Migration and Humanitarian Aid Foundation prepared an educational video for children based on the philosophy and couplets of Feqîyê Teyran and published it on online platforms for children’s use.

ThisPlace – Stories of displaced people in Diyarbakır, Chernihiv and Porto
in collaboration with Chernihiv and Porto hubs
ThisPlace is the joint project between Diyarbakır II, Chernihiv, and Porto hubs. The project addresses stories of displaced people in these three places, taking into account their political and historical contexts, by developing ways of artistic expression for social change.
ThisPlace developed common strategies and methodologies to apply locally to three communities: the Kurdish society who had to migrate due to repressive policies in the geographies where the Kurds predominately live; the internally displaced Ukrainian people who were forced to move due to the Russian military aggression in the East of Ukraine; and people of non-European descent who are discriminated against by structural racism and xenophobia in Portugal. ThisPlace was developed in two phases: the first was a collection of individual and subjective stories through collaborative artistic methods, and the second one was the production of artistic outcomes to present at the three hubs locations.
