HUB IDEA
The Solidarity Basecamp hub creates an inclusive space for migrants and refugees, especially women and gender-diverse individuals, to learn storytelling as a tool for connection and dialogue. Through 6 workshops (both online and in-person) and 1-on-1 mentoring, participants will develop storytelling, communication, and performance skills, fostering a sense of belonging and solidarity. Digital tools like Canva, Miro, and Zoom will support online sessions. The workshops will culminate in a public event with performances and dialogues at BAK, involving local authorities, civil society organisations, and cultural groups. Targeting 12-15 migrant or refugee participants, the project will be coordinated by NWC, with BAK providing the venue, organising events, and managing marketing. The hub aims to enhance storytelling skills, foster collaboration, and encourage public dialogue on migration to bridge understanding between migrants and local communities.Zoetermeer

New Women Connectors (NWC) is a feminist social change movement led by migrant and refugee women. Their goal is to empower refugees and migrants to connect, advocate and transform policies that affect them. NWC aims to increase the visibility of migrant and refugee community leaders and provide training for leaders, policymakers, international NGOs, EU institutions and cities on meaningful participation of migrants and refugees in decision-making, policy co-design, democratic governance and civic engagement. They create platforms for policymakers to engage in dialogues with new communities and advocate for equal access to power and recognition of their contributions.

BAK, Utrecht is founded as a base for art, theory, and social action, a critical platform with and through art. Basecamp for Tactical Imaginaries, 2025 onwards uses BAK as a basis committed to “instituting otherwise,” to confront the urgencies of today - urgencies that reflect an extreme not seen in the Netherlands and elsewhere in generations - by a radical embodiment of unbuilding and rebuilding, through direct action and intervention and prioritizing equity and repair to counteract and reinvent the status quo. Basecamp focuses on tactical imagination and collective practices that provide both respite and a place from which to act.
