Composting for Peace Events in Belgrade

A series of events took place in Belgrade as part of Composting for Peace.

Peaceful Transformations: Ecological and Artistic Practices in Peace-building

Panel discussion, 29 October 2022, Kafe Bar 16, Belgrade

The event gathered ecology and peace activists, artists, and other people from the community interested in the topic of peace. It aimed at opening the topic of peace and ecology and discussing existing and possible initiatives in working on these topics.

Music as a Tool for Peace

Workshop, November 2022, Belgrade

In the first part of the workshop, students from the University of Lyon who visited Serbia participated in the rehearsal of the Svi UGLAS choir, met the participants, and heard their stories. During the workshop, a lecture on the topic of multiculturalism in Serbia was delivered by the young people from Svi UGLAS choir. Together with the participants from the Roma community, they sang a song in Romani and discussed the position of Romani men and women in Serbia.

In the second part of the workshop, the same students were invited to participate in a rehearsal that happened outside in nature. Together with the young people from the choir, they were working on the production of a song on environmental topics, discussed their feelings and thoughts about nature.

Peace and Ecology Workshop

Workshop, 2 November 2022, Belgrade

The workshop was held as a part of a bigger event called “Youth Rights Talks” organised by Belgrade Center for Human Rights. The connection between peace and ecology was addressed by using drama techniques.
